Additional Information: Action 2.4-3: Prioritize resources for protection. Within the Open Space Plan, Appendix B (pg. 47) includes an "Evaluation Methodology for Acquisition, Sale, Lease, and Preservation of Properties for Open Space Classification". Resources prioritized for protection include: flood control, water supply, protection of water quality, protection and maintenance of biological diversity, woodlands, and wildlife habitat corridors, buffer between land uses, recreational activity, scenic views/visual character of the community, historic and cultural landscapes, Long Island Sound- protection of coastal resources and water quality, and education. Long-term acquisition plans are included within each Goal in the OSP.

Additional Information: Attached is a letter acknowledging the recognition of Greenwich as a Tree City USA through the Arbor Day Foundation in 2017 for meeting the program's four requirements: a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.
