Physical Distancing and Sustainable CT Actions

Certification of your Municipality

  • Register your community for Sustainable CT. There is no obligation to apply for certification in any timeframe.
  • After you register your community, begin work on Sustainable CT actions, and apply for certification when your municipality is ready.  Opportunities to apply for certification are offered twice annually.
  • Certification lasts for 3 years, from the beginning of the next calendar year. For example, for communities certified in spring or fall 2021, certification lasts until December 31, 2024.
  • For 2021 certification, you must complete at least one action in Sustainable CT’s new categories 1 - 11, including one or more Sustainable CT Equity Toolkits, and achieve the point thresholds listed above to receive either Bronze or Silver certification. View list of new categories here and draft 2021 actions here. The action page of this website and municipal dashboard will be revised to reflect final 2021 categories and actions by January 1, 2021. Have questions? Contact us.
  • Many Sustainable CT actions have variable points, which means there are several ways to complete the action. All you need to do is achieve one of the designated point levels listed for that action to consider it complete. Of course, the more you do, the more points you earn.

  • If you choose to apply for certification in 2021, please note the key dates below. For submission dates, materials must be received no later than 12:00 p.m. Contact info@sustainablect.org for assistance with completing actions and applying for certification.
