Continuing the town level focus on homelessness and pathways to both understand and address unsheltered experiences of residents statewide, the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness (CCEH) will lead a presentation and discussion that uses the four categories of homelessness as defined by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). HUD language will be highlighted alongside examples of each category, followed by a description of the homeless service system responses and with a sample of creative municipal-lead responses. This is in response to and preparation for town submissions for the Sustainable CT Action 12 Effective, Compassionate Homelessness Prevention.
Please join us for this session, which will provide fundamental understanding of the language Connecticut’s own homeless response system utilizes in an effort to give towns the tools to have critical and local discussions about those residents who are unsheltered or imminently so. Attendees will receive a broad system-level introduction to homeless response utilizing the HUD categories as a point of reference.
