2023 Certification Success Reports

Sixteen municipalities achieved Sustainable CT certification in 2023, including six Climate Leader awardees. The City of New Haven, our first recipient of Gold certification, earned over 1,000 points and was nominated for 18 “success story” awards. These success stories included the creation of New Haven’s Cultural Equity Plan and the Homeless Navigation Hub Continuum.

In 2023, our Community Match Fund surpassed three million dollars in investment in local projects. Since its inception in September of 2019, the Sustainable CT Community Match Fund has invested in over 250 local projects throughout the state of Connecticut. To date, Sustainable CT has committed $1.4 million as a match to more than $1.6 million collected from over fourteen thousand individual donations.
