Energize CT Assistance for Strategic Energy Management (SEM)

In this coordinated, long-term No-Cost Assistance program, municipalities in Eversource Energy and Avangrid territories receive free support to develop and implement a Strategic Energy Management (SEM) program. Participating municipalities will work with the utilities to activate energy teams in town, track energy performance in municipal, Board of Education buildings and water/wastewater systems, and engage employees to maximize energy savings. The program is very flexible, so if you already have components in place, SEM can help expand on those! Roles / Responsibilities

Utility will:

• Coordinate with your municipality to set up your energy team.


• Provide energy efficiency and management training, coaching and support, treasure hunts, and cloud-based energy performance tracking via Energy Sensei.


• Participate in any preparatory and/or progress calls and meetings as needed.

Municipality will:

• Coordinate with the utility to setup an energy team and meet regularly.


• Ensure that approximately two representatives from your municipality will attend 5 workshops in Year 1.


• Work with the utility to identify, prioritize, and complete operations and maintenance projects in municipal, Board of Education buildings, and water/wastewater systems.
