Connecticut Green Bank Smart-E Loans Workshops available to Sustainable CT communities.

Sustainable CT has partnered with the Connecticut Green Bank to offer support in planning and conducting sustainable home financing workshops for homeowners across the state. With Green Bank products such as the Smart-E Loan Program, homeowners can easily access low-interest, no-money-down capital to upgrade or repair dozens of measures within their home, ranging from the installation of solar panels to updating one’s septic system. By hosting a Sustainable Financing Workshop, your municipality will satisfy some or all requirements for Sustainable CT Actions Hold a Sustainability Event (5 points under action 8.1.1) or Implement a Community Energy Campaign (this may count as one of your three workshops if energy related; holding three workshops in 12-months earns 10 points under action 7.7.1), all while providing your residents with an opportunity to learn more about products and services available to them.

The Connecticut Green Bank team, in partnership with Sustainable CT staff, will facilitate a workshop and provide your community with all of the submission requirements needed to satisfy either action 8.1.1 (5 points) or a portion of 7.7.1 (10 points). Workshops will be offered as an in-person or virtual event and will take place on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Sustainable Home Financing Workshop Process

The Sustainable Home Financing Workshop process is designed to allow municipalities to choose which programs, products, or themes they would like to highlight during the proposed events. Whether your town or city would like to highlight the Smart-E Loan Program, which connects homeowners to Connecticut Green Bank’s trusted network of contractors and lenders to finance over 90 home improvements, or another more fitting product, the Sustainable CT and Green Bank teams are ready to accommodate and tailor the event toward your audience.
